Emm a L ee Cha vis was born on April 5, 1932, to Olivia and Jim Buck in Port Barre, Louisiana. She moved to San Francisco, California and resided there for many years. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in San Francisco, California.

She worked at the San Francisco Emporium as a waitress and a cook for over 20 years and later opened, owned and operated her own Bar and Restaurant for many years. She would later move to Iowa, Louisiana in 1998 and remained there until her passing.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her two sisters, Mary Boyce of Fayetteville, NC and Verna Buck of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olivia Mitchell and Jim Buck; one brother, Clarence Buck and one sister, Mary Grisby.

Emma will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
