Mrs. Ethel Livings, born May 30, 1938, in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Paul and Olivia (Pillette) Thibeaux, and from her earliest days, her life was shaped by deep faith, unwavering strength, and a profound love for family.

Ethel was one of twenty‑two children, and the last of her siblings to be called home to glory. She cherished each of them, and she carried their memories with her throughout her life. She also held a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews, loving them dearly and praying for them faithfully.

A devoted woman of God, Ethel was known as a prayer warrior—a mother and grandmother whose faith covered her family, her church, and her community. Her love was wide, steady, and unconditional. She adored her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and her great‑great grandson. Her church family and friends were equally dear to her, and she poured kindness, encouragement, and prayer into every life she touched.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her three sons Joseph T. Livings, Ray A. Livings, and Mitchell W. Livings, and her two grandsons Quincy Livings and Michael Bowers.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Her son Michael (Carla) Livings; Her daughters Annette Walker, Tina (Melvin) Ceasar, LaTasha Livings, Jennifer Walker one of many granddaughters; 21 grandchildren, 29 great‑grandchildren, and 1 great‑great grandson; Along with extended family, church family, and friends who will forever remember her strength, her prayers, and her love.

A Home Going Celebration honoring her life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 910 N. Shattuck St., Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Ethel Livings lived a life of faith, resilience, and devotion. Her legacy continues in the generations she nurtured, the prayers she prayed, and the love she gave so freely.
