Ethel Carrier-Mayfield, 96, of Lake Charles gained her Heavenly Reward on May 16, 2021.

Ethel was born to Josephine Babineau and Oneil Landry on October 6, 1924 in Lawtell, Louisiana.  She was baptized at St. Bridget's Catholic Church November 22, 1924. She attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA for over 70 years where she met lifelong friends.

Ethel was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, St. Rita's Court, and the Silhouettes Civic and Social Club.

Ethel was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Carrier (1942 – 1972) and her second husband, Rufus Mayfield (1975 – 1996). She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Carolyn (Al) Bowen of McDonough, GA; two grandchildren, Kim (James) Poullard of Franklin, TN; Kenneth Bowen of Stockbridge, GA; Three great grandsons Jay, Jonathan, and Jackson Poullard all of Franklin, TN, and three extended family members; Anthony Castille of Lake Charles, LA,  Martha (Will) Belton of Baton Rouge, LA, and Grant Scott of Lake Charles, LA, three sisters-in-laws, Rose Carrier-Fontenot and Shirley Landry both of Lake Charles, LA, and Julie Mayfield of Inglewood, California, one brother-in-law; L. Joseph Sanford  of Lake Charles, LA. She will be remembered by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
