Eugene Kaough Sr., 90, passed away on 16, January 2019] at Kindred hospital, in Houston, TX. He was born on September 8, 1928 in Lake Charles, LA to Burns and Ethel (Oxley) Kaough.

Eugene grew up in Lake Charles, LA. He graduated from high school in Lake Charles, LA in 1945. After high school he joined the Army in 1947 and server for 26 years. He served in Vietnam War and was the recipient of several medals and awards. He retired in 1973,achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.

Eugene married Emma (Stevenson) Kaough in 1975 in Lake Charles, LA. They were happily married for 43 years. Eugene was a long-time member of Reeves CME Temple, where he participated in the Male Chorus, Steward Board, and elected Treasurer. He enjoyed working in his yard where he took great pride in the beauty of landscaping, enjoyed being in the company of all his friends and family, and he was always happy in lending a helping hand wherever needed.

Eugene is survived by his spouse Emma of Lake Charles; his sons Eugene Kaough Jr. of Baytown, TX and Franklin (Nikkia) Sherrod of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren Tiara, Jasmine, Monica, Franklin III, Anthony, and Paige; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
