Eva Christina DeLoach Russell was born August 1, 1936, in Winnfield, La., to Sebron DeLoach Sr. and Cammie Dotson DeLoach.
Eva later married the late Stillwell Adam Russell. Eva was blessed with three children, Dr. Victor (Kathleen) DeLoach of Lithia, Fla., Carolyn Sanders of Baton Rouge, La., and Stillwell J. (Mary) Russell Sr. of New Orleans, La.
Eva began working for the Calcasieu Parish School System in 1978 and retired from the system in 2002. Eva faithfully served as an Usher, a member of the Mission and Outreach Committee, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Adult Bible School Teacher and a member of the Mid-Day Bible Study Group. She also came out to any function and helped whether or not she was a part of the committee sponsoring the event.
Loving memories will be cherished by her children; three brothers, Felix (Edna) DeLoach, Sebron (Tonette) DeLoach, Shreveport, La.,James DeLoach, Orange, Texas; and one sister-in-law, Thressa DeLoach, DeQuincy, La.
Three sisters preceded her in death, Alva DeLoach White, Ruth Booker and Clara Campbell; one brother, Fred DeLoach; one grandson, Channin Sanders; and sisterin-law, Madgeline DeLoach.
Eva leaves behind four grandchildren, Alexis Sanders, Portia Sanders of Baton Rouge, La., Stillwell Joseph Russell Jr., Simieon Josiah Russell of New Orleans, La.; two great-grandchildren, Ariana Dunn, Zyonn Amirah Burton and Zacchaeus Hakim Burton of Baton Rouge, La.; one step-granddaughter, Tracy Guesto; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Rarna Guesto.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Warren Methodist Church. The Rev. Davis Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
