On Saturday at 11:50 am, March 14, 2015 at home surrounded by angels and his family, Francis Sterling Orsot, 87, was escorted by Jesus to enjoy the place that has been prepared for him. Francis, the son of the late Sterling and Suzette Barras Orsot was born in Cade, Louisiana on October 8, 1927.
He was a founding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. He loved family, cooking, spreading his wisdom, telling jokes, and Zydeco dancing. He will be remembered for his Helping Hand , Kindheartedness, and Wisdom. He welcomed everyone! He was voted King for several Mardi Gras Balls. Francis was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
He leaves to cherish his memories three loving daughters Karen (David) Lede, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Pauline (Juan) Avant, Dallas, Texas; and Yolanda Orsot, Los Angeles, California; six loving sons Murray (Rhonda) Orsot, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Kerney (Jacqueline) Orsot, Lake Charles, Louisiana Myles Orsot, Norcross, Georgia, Ernold (Ana) Orsot, Silver Springs, Virginia, Quincy Orsot, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Joseph (Pam) Orsot, Kountze, Texas; and a special step-child, Jacqueline Guillory Smith. Brothers Nicholas (Dorothy) Orsot, Julean (Theresa) Orsot, Henry (Georgia) Orsot all of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Sisters Veda Biagas, Irene Metoyer, Maurine Granger, and Joycelyn Lecompte all of Lake Charles, Louisiana.Also cherishing his memories are his twenty-three grandchildren David, Jr. Austin, Ashton, Michael Lede, Desiree, Marcus, Monica, Ramona, Victoria, Nancy, Samuel, Christina, Lucas, Melody, Sterling, Camille, Jazmyne, Spayne, Adreonna, Ryan, J.J., Alex and Alexis. Godchildren Jacinta Poullard, Abigail Zeno, Joycelyn (Boo) Lecompte and a special friend, Mary Jane Guillory; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Francis was preceded in death by his parents Sterling and Suzette Orsot, brother Peter Spoilin Orsot, sister Sedonia Granger, God daughter Suzette Granger Anderson, and a special friend and confidante Hazel Ardoin Guillory.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: March 21, 2015
Visitation will be Saturday March 21, 2015 from 7:00 A.M. to 11:15 A.M. in Combre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be Saturday March 21, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church, burial will be in Consalota Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
