Obituary

We can only bow our heads in humble submission to the will of Him who does all things well. For we must all go someday one by one.

The call of death came to Frank Albert Meadows, beloved servant of God, on Feb. 7, 2015. He was one who gave his life to Christ at an early age, always willing and ready to help to the best of his ability.

On June 4, 1932, Charles and Carrie Meadows were blessed with the birth of their third son, Frank Albert, in Roanoke, Va.

Frank graduated from Lucy Addison High School in 1951 and he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an aircraft mechanic. This caused him to go to many parts of the world, and he served much time in the South Pacific during the Korean and the Vietnam conflicts. After having served 20 years, he retired.

In 1970 Frank Meadows and Juanita Willis were united in marriage in Grambling, La. After the marriage, Lake Charles became home for the two of them. Having been in Lake Charles for a while, Frank united with the New Sunlight Baptist Church where he began to serve on the church maintenance committee, and he also became responsible for the church bus ministry. In addition, he aided the cooks in the day care.

Frank was a faithful, kind and loving father that worked hard to provide for his daughter, Sherry Lynn, and sons, Quentin and Timothy. His work through the years included employment at Hercules, Olin Chemical Corporation and COCA Meals on Wheels beginning in 2006 and continuing until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Charles Meadows; one brother, Richard; and son, Quentin.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita W. Meadows; daughter, Sherry Lynn Booker (Randy) of San Antonio, Texas; son, Timothy (Traci) of Galloway, N.J.; sister, Dorothy Yancy of Roanoke, Va.; brothers, Ralph E. Meadows (Margaret) of Silver Springs, Md., Donald E. Meadows (Shirley) of Upper Marlboro, Md.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; special godchild, Artez Gordon; and extended family of sisters-inlaw, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the laymen ministry of the New Sunlight Baptist Church.
