Frankie Mae Johnson Lane made it known that she wanted
to
slip away
peacefully and on Saturday- September
30, 2017
she did just that.
Frankie was the eldest daughter born
to
the union of the late George and
Theresa Johnson on February
26, 1928,
in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was
preceded in death by her husband Bernard H. Lane after fifty-eight years of
marriage; her parents George and Theresa, her brother George Johnson Jr.,
and
sister Juanita Johnson Stemley.
Frankie was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and went on
to
earn her Bachelor's Degree from Southern University- Baton Rouge and her
Master's Degree from McNeese State University- Lake Charles, Louisiana. She
enjoyed a professional career as an Educator and Counselor. While her
accomplishments were vast she never bragged or sort recognition.
Frankie was a life member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.; a member
of the Retired Teachers Association; Top Ladies of Distinction Inc. Lake Charles;
Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary and was active in the
Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RClA) at Sacred
Heart
.
A mother and a friend leaves
to
cherish her memory two sons, Donald B. Lane
and Alric B. Lane both of Lake Charles, LA; step-son Bernard Lane of Vallejo,
California; grandson Jordan Ryan Pierce Lane of Irving, Texas, and step-
granddaughter Erika
V.

Carolina; lifelong friends Albert and Azalea Stevenson, Kermit and Maxine
