Freddy Hazel, Jr. was born August 2, 1936 in Elizabeth, LA. to the late Freddy Hazel, Sr. and Havana Compton. He was the second of two children and his family moved to Lake Charles while he was still a little boy. On August 22, 1959 Freddy married his beloved wife Joyce Ann Johnson, and to this union 4 children were born.
He retired from Magobar/Dresser Minerals after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Warren United Methodist Church. He dearly loved his family, he enjoyed fishing, cooking and his all time favorite making sweet potato pies. He made sure that anyone that visited him and his family felt welcomed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Joyce Ann, his only son Donald James and sister Dorothy Riley.
He leaves to mourn but glorify in a life well lived his three girls (his words) Vickie Lynn (Anthony) Davis of St. Martinville, LA., Rhonda Joy (Sandy) Woods and Lisa Michelle of Lake Charles, LA. Grandchildren Michael Hazel of Houston, Texas, Brandi (Jerone) Norwood of Beaumont, Tx., Jason (Stephanie) Hazel and Anthony (Maria) Hazel of Lake Charles, LA. Sister-in-Law Laura Turpeau of St. Martinville, La., daughter-in-law Phyllis Renee Hazel of Lake Charles, La., Great grandchildren Nolan, McKenzi, Dylan and Camron Hazel all of Lake Charles, La., and first cousin/sister Helen Jubert of Lake Charles, Louisiana and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends
