Frederick C. Celestaine, 76, of Lake Charles, passed away on September 7, 2017 at
home surrounded by Family.
He was the son of the late Isaac and Anna (Thomas) Celestaine. He was born June
28, 1941 in Mamou, Louisiana. He attended high school at Holy Rosary Institute in
Lafayette, Louisiana and attended college at University of North Texas in Denton. He
was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served honorably and upon discharge he
transitioned into print and broadcast journalism. Mr. Celestaine worked for
multiple newspapers, magazines and even served as a co-anchor for a local
television station. In 1965, his entrepreneurial spirit sparked the birth of Abatol
White Glove Pest Control Service which is still serving the community as Abatol Al's
Pest Control Service.
He is preceded in death by his father, Isaac J. Celestaine, Sr., mother, Anna Thomas
Celestaine, and brother, Isaac James Celestaine, Jr.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Allen and to this union two children were
born: Roderick (Amber) Celestaine of Blythewood, South Carolina and Blaine
(Tanya) Celestaine of Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was later united in marriage to
Thelma Cobb and to this union two children were born: Thelanna Celestaine of
Atlanta, Georgia and Alaric Celestaine of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is survived by
sisters, Mary Noel Gouke of Columbus, Ohio, Eva Celestaine Gunter and Marva
(Wilbert) Bluitt, both of Dallas, Texas; aunts, Ezella T. Noel, Alva C. (Willie) Lucky;
uncle, Allen J. (Jewel) Celestine; special cousin, Barbara Evans and Family; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also proudly owned the title of
"PawPaw" to his 9 grandchildren: Portia, Jerin, Mchaji, Basha, Joel, Yusef, Ayden,
Alijah, and Adam, and two great grandchildren: Anthony and Emery. Also
mourning his loss are special friends Alnice Vincent, Haki Vincent and Stillwell
Russell.
He will be greatly missed by his Family, friends, and colleagues
