Frederick Edwards, 79, was born to Mr. Hosea and Ellen Stephen Edwards in Grand Prairie, Louisiana on October 27, 1938. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He later moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1957. He worked as an 18 Wheeler Truck Driver for forty plus years. Frederick retired from Prax Air/Liquid Carbonic in 1996.

Frederick enjoyed cutting grass, dancing, watching CNN and the westerns. Although he was retired, his job was meeting up at the Exxon Convenience Store to drink coffee with the fellows.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hosea and Ellen Stephen Edwards; four sisters, Annie Bell Carman, Annie Pearl Nettles, Betty Jean Bell and Doris Edwards; and two brothers, Samuel Edwards, Sr and Bobby Edwards, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories a wife of fifty years, Eva Washington Edwards of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons, Mathew (Annette) Edwards of Dallas, Texas, Carmichael (Regina) Edwards of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Dr. Tasha Marie Edwards of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mary (Darrell) Shaw and Beatrice Edwards of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Maxine (Hilliard) Wilson of Houston, Texas and Joyce (Henry) Jackson of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Five grandchildren, Shaniqua (Braylor) Smither, Yvonda Edwards, Myles (Allison) Edwards, Montel Edwards and Kortni Edwards all of Dallas, Texas; four great grandchildren, Zoey, Audri, Zora and Saxon, all of Dallas, Texas; 1 grand dog, Rocky; five godchildren, Linda polar, Charles Washington, Wilma Washington, Samuel Griffin, Jr and Damond Jackson, Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
