Georgia A. Davis, 62, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at home.

She was a native of Heidelberg, Miss., and lived in Lake Charles, La., the last 53 years. Georgia was a proud graduate of the 1972 class of Washington High School. She was involved with Camp Fire and Washington-Marion Band Boosters. She was a member of New Sunlight Baptist Church since 1962 where she was a member of the Women''s Home Mission Society, usher board and Senior Choir.

Georgia''s survivors include children, her son, Matthew Arrington Sr. of Tampa, Fla., and three daughters, Rosemary Davis, Shirlene Davis and Janeene Davis of Lake Charles, La.; Georgia''s three sisters, Lorena Brown of Crestview, Fla., Gloria King of Bradenton, Fla., and Barbara McDonald of Heidelberg, Miss.; three grandsons, Matthew Arrington Jr., Jamal Arrington and Sherman Arrington, all of Tampa, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Khirra Smith of Lake Charles, La.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Arrington; her mother, Louise Arrington Aarron; her husband, Sherman Davis; and her brother, Marvin Arrington.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: August 8, 2015

Her visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, in New Sunlight Baptist Church in Lake Charles, La. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park, under the direction of Combre Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
