Lake Charles- Gerald Wayne "June" Fondel Jr., 30, departed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

Gerald was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. On March 7, 1982, he was born to the union of Gerald Sr and the late Sandra Faye Fondel.  Gerald accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Oscar Ford, of Union Mission Baptist Church. Gerald rededicated his life to Christ and reunited with the Union Mission Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lionel Jones. Gerald was employed by Superior Supply and Steel in Sulphur as a Laborer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Faye Fondel, paternal great-grand parents, Rev. Oscar (Carla V) Ford, great grand-father, Dorsey Simmons and his uncle Gary Fondel.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Jamica Fondel, fiance' Courtney Landry, sons, Jatylyn Bowers and Jakylyn Bowers; daughters  Na'Kaira Landry and Ja'Kaira Landry; one step-daughter, D'Tizhana  Landry, 2 brothers, Zachery DeShun (Carmelica) Fondel and Darryl  Richmond, 3 sisters, Tamika Hope Fondel, Eleanor Papillion and Desiree  Mayo all of Lake Charles. His father Gerald Fondel Sr. of Lake Charles. his God-brother Larry (Crystal) Lee; God-child, Wesley  Oscavier Jones; maternal grandmother, Theresa Fondel; materal  grandfather, George Fondel Sr.; maternal great grandmother,Eleanor  Simmons and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews, cousins and  friends.

His funeral service will be at 11am Saturday, July 28, in Combre Funeral Home. The Rev. Lionel Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9am Saturday in Combre Funeral Home.
