Geraldine Thibodeaux-Fobbs was born November 26, 1937 in Lawtell, Louisiana to the late Melvin Sr and Edna Thibodeaux. She was the co-founder of Saint John Holiness Church in 1978, which originated in her and her late husband, Bishop J.E. Fobbs' home, then relocated to their new location, 1314 Summit Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana until this present day. Ms. Geraldine worked as a domestic housekeeper until she was employed at McNeese State University as a custodial supervisor, retiring after 26 years. She worked faithfully in the church in many positions. She was loved and respected by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Bishop J.E. Fobbs, her parents, Melvin Sr and Edna Thibodeaux; two brothers, Melvin Thibodeaux, Jr and Peter Irvin Thibodeaux; son and wife, Kerry and Cathy Fobbs; brother-in-laws, Harry Johnson, Sr; and Harry "Chuckie" James Johnson, Jr; and sister, Bonnie Bellard.
Elder Fobbs leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Elder Ronald (Margaret) Simien, and Elder Carey (Blondeva) Simien; daughters, Jacqueline Johnson and Deborah Collins all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; siblings, Evelyn Amos (Joseph), Marjorie Jason, Audrey Lewis (Joe), Juanita Chambers (Merlin), of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Patricia Patterson of Forth Worth, Texas; Louvella Manuel, Terry Thibodeaux and John (Cookie) Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
