Geraldine Theresa Narcisse, 95, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, transitioned peacefully from this life on November 20, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and community. Born June 15, 1929, to the late Juanita Boutte James and Stanley Jerome Vital, Geraldine embraced a life rich in family, service, and creativity.
Affectionately known as "Ms. Deanie," she was a beloved beautician whose talent led to the opening of her own beauty shop, a haven of style and connection in the Lake Charles community. Her unmatched hospitality and culinary expertise turned every gathering into a celebration, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Geraldine's unwavering faith found its home at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a devoted member throughout her life.
Preceding her in death were many loved ones who shaped her journey, including her cherished husband of 56 years, Correst "Pete" Narcisse; her daughter Jacqueline Gilmore "Dooga Do"; her parents, Juanita Boutte James and Stanley Jerome Vital; her siblings; Joanne Goodwill, Frank (Jackie) James Jr., Earl James Sr. and Robert James. She is also reunited with other dear family members and friends who went before her.
Her life was deeply enriched by the relationships she nurtured. Geraldine shared her early years with Willie Marks Sr., with whom she raised four children: Willie Marks Jr "Apple Jack", David Marks, Stanley Marks "Jerry", and Jacqueline Gilmore. With her husband Pete, she was blessed with two children, Carroll Narcisse and Martha Smith (Elbert Earl Smith, deceased) creating a blended family filled with love and resilience.
Geraldine leaves behind a large and loving family, including her children; Willie, David and Stanley Marks, Carroll Narcisse, and Martha Narcisse-Smith; her beloved brother; Macdonald James; 13 grandchildren: Craig Marks, Troy "Wooster" Marks , Damon Marks, Daundrea Arceneaux (Joshua), Ebony McKee (Maurice), Shallissa Victorian (Darrell), Elisia Smith, Kai Narcisse, Josiah Narcisse, Brielle Narcisse, Kaisley Brown, Kaylee Brown, and Ryleigh Brown; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her light shines brightly through those she leaves behind, reflecting a life filled with purpose, compassion, and grace.
