Obituary

Gladys Marie August was born to the union of Berwick

And Eunice Marie August on November 16, 1931 in Lake Charles, La.

She was taken in at an early age and solely raised by her aunt Florence E. Laws who was more like a mother to her.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Holy Rosary Academy, McDonogh 35, and Southern University.

On April 23, 1962 she married the love of her life, Paul Lawrence (England) Langlinais Sr.

She was employed by St. Patrick Hospital as an X-ray Tech in Radiology where she retired in 1987. After retirement she worked at Lake Charles Care center as an activity planner until 1991.

Gladys attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was known by many as "Ms. G" and "Baby" by a special young man she took part in raising, J'shyrick Glodd who she affectionately called "Boog". As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family and friends. Not to mention she was an awesome cook. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always thinking of others first. "To know her was to love her."

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory three sons Paul (Catrina) Langlinais, Barry (Madeline) England, John Isaac Gardner , one step daughter Freda Reed all of Lake Charles. 13 grandkids Cortlen (Lizzie) Reado, Devin Aaron, Joshua Langinais, Christopher Reado, Melissa Fowlkes, Mia (Brandon) McKay, Michael Durr, Elbana Tezeno, Randy Tezeno,  Tisha Walker, George (Christen) Walker, Dalia Walker, Talia Walker ; 24 Great Grand children, A special nephew and care giver, Trent Lavalais; Two  God children Susan Combre and Edward Lavalais; Two Aunts Lillie Mae James  of Kenner La., and Eunice Allen of Beaumont Tx., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Berwick and Eunice Marie August ; Aunt Florence E. Laws; husband Paul Lawrence (England) Langlinais Sr. ; daughter Shelia (England) Walker.
