Gregory passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in a local hospital.

He was born in Lake Charles, LA and attended Mill Street Elementary and Pearl Watson Junior High Schools.  At the age of 13 Gregory went to live with his uncle in Eureka, CA where he completed High School.  He joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1975.  Gregory worked as a truck driver and private chauffeur for many years.  Although he loved California, he would always come home.  He will always be remembered for keeping in touch with family and friends.  No matter how distant a relative or friend you wre or where you lived, he would look you up and find time to call and visit.

Gregory was preceded in death by his mother and father; Joseph Charles and Anna Laura Kennerson and stepfather, Charlie Joyner.

He is survived by a daughter Quianna (Leon) Clayton of Lafayette, LA. Stepdaughters and son, Sheraton Frank and Tara Harris of Lafayette, LA., and Darnell Frank of Lake Charles.  Four sisters:  Mary Angelia and Deborah Kennerson of Lake Charles, Tammy Kennerson of Atlanta, GA; and six brothers, Dr. Toni Lewis, Donald Anderson, Kenny, David, Darrell and Kenneth Kennerson of Lake Charles, LA; one grandson, JaKyle Smith of Lafayette, LA.

Funeral services for Gregory Wayne Kennerson, 54 will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Riverside Baptist Church.  Rev. Lee Wilson will officiate.  Viewing is at 11:00 am in the church.  Burial in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
