Gregory Vincent Manuel departed this life on Monday September 17, 2018 in Lake Charles, LA.
He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Lake Charles High in 1968. In 1971 He fulfilled the desire to serve his country by joining the Army. He worked extensively for the National Weather Service at Wake Island, the Philippines, and Dugway Proving Ground in Utah before returning to Lake Charles in 1982. He gave his life to the Lord Sunday August 18th, 1991. He spent the rest of his life winning souls for Christ and spreading the word about the grace and mercy of God. An avid lover of Jazz music, He collected thousands of records throughout his life, sharing his music collection with family, friends, and those who crossed his path. Gregory was a skilled Flutist and music had a profound impact on his life.
He served on the usher board at United Christian Fellowship and He shared his love of the Lord and Jazz music with everyone he touched. He loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren Tailor and Gabriel. He counseled many troubled souls through life's trials and was a man of great faith who understood his accountability was to Jesus Christ.
This man of great faith was preceded in death by his mother (Odette) and father John Manuel; one sister Sally Manuel, and one brother Bradford Manuel. He is survived by his loving wife Laura Manuel, daughters Raghan and Erica Durousseau, grandchildren Tailor Durousseau and Gabriel Jones, brother John Manuel, sister Ida Behn, nephews Miles Slaughter, Vance Behn, and Scott Behn, nieces Nichet Grey, Tammy James, Carla Behn, ; as well as a host of friends, extended family, and former co-workers.
