Harvey Francis Duhon, Sr., was born on July 20, 1929, to the late Julian and Julia (Granger) Duhon. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. He was a native of Lake Charles, LA. Harvey was married to the late Orelia (Gallow) Duhon, for 51 years.

Harvey lived in the community of Lake Charles known to many as "Prien Lake." He was an employee of Mobile Gas & Oil Company, and retired after 52 years of service. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Council 246.

Cherishing his memory, he is survived by his son Harvey (Alvinna) Duhon, Jr., of Lake Charles, LA; son-in-law, Larry Winey, Sr., of Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren, DeAnne (Jason) Ward, Larry (Cheryl) Winey, Jr., Christopher (Penny) Duhon-Winey, all of Lake Charles, LA, Justin Winey of Washington, D.C., and Hunter Duhon of Lake Charles, LA; seven great-grandchildren, Maya and Andrew Ward, Donovan, Carson and Mason Winey, Kaylynn and Kelly Duhon-Winey, all of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Mable Duhon Harrison of Hitchcock, TX; host of numerous extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his loving wife Orelia, his only daughter, Shelia Duhon Winey, great-granddaughter Megan Ward; sisters, Lillian Duhon, Clara Duhon Callahan, Gertrude Duhon, Delores Duhon Combre, and Catherine Duhon Schlesinger; brothers, Nelam and Ramsey Duhon.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: March 18, 2015

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
