Hayward Louis Richard Sr.

"Billy"

Hayward Richard was born on January 17, 1937, to Horace and Lucille Mallet Richard in Jennings, Louisiana. He died at the age of 87 on July 16, 2024. After graduating from Jeff Davis High School, Hayward served in the United States Navy. In 1961, he married Mary Sarah Singleton and from this union, three children were born: Carla, Matilda and Hayward Jr. Hayward retired as an operator from Hercules Plant, Lyondell Basell after 30 plus years. Hayward was a faithful member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters Carla Richard (Warren II) Combre and Matilda Richard of Lake Charles, LA., his sister Elnoria R. Goodwin of Lake Charles, LA. 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Sarah Richard, his son, Hayward Richard, Jr., his brother, Hilbert "Sonny" Richard, and his sister Edolia R. Gordon.

His visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at Combre Funeral Home, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church located at 2510 Enterprise Blvd., Lake Charles, LA. The burial will take place in Combre Memorial Park.
