Hazel Marie Kennedy

April 3, 1947 – December 21, 2024

Hazel Marie Kennedy, 77 of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024.

She was born on April 3, 1947 in Lake Charles to parents Gilbert and Ella Mae Kennedy, Hazel was a beloved member of her community and was known for her generous spirit, quiet personality, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

After graduating with a degree in nursing from McNeese State University, Hazel worked for over thirty-eight years at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital as a registered nurse. She provided compassionate care to countless patients.

Hazel leaves to cherish her memories her three sisters Edna Redeaux and Mary Edwards (husband Sherman Sr.) both of Lake Charles, LA and Debra Pipkin (husband Darryl) of Frisco, TX.  A brother Hilton Kennedy (wife Melody) of Cypress, TX.

Nephews Shedrick Kennedy (wife Tameka) of Katy, TX,  Sherman Edwards Jr. of West Columbia, TX, Sheron Edwards of Lake Charles, LA, Daniel Pipkin of London, England and David Pipkin of Princeton, NJ.  She leaves behind nieces Rosalind Kennedy-Granger of Tacoma, WA.,  Tanya Kennedy-McDonald of Arlington, TX. and Jennifer Fisher of Lake Charles, LA.

Her grand nephews and nieces Christian, Elijah, and Mia Redeaux, Mallorie Ardoin, Saraya and Sevyn Edwards all of Lake Charles, LA, Danielle Edwards of West Columbia, TX. Karyss, Khori and Kole Kennedy of Katy, TX.

She also has one surviving God son, Chris Lorden and a host of other relatives and friends.
