Obituary

Henry L. Lewis, 75 passed away on Wednesday, Decemberd 12, 2012 in a local hospital. He was born
March 30, 1937 in Lake Charles, LA. Henry grew up in the Brownsville Community. He was fondly
called "H.L.", "Cold Beans", or "Unc" by the kids of the family. He was a 1956 graduate of
Washington High School. As a young man he loved playing baseball, he was the catcher for the
Brownsville Braves baseball team. In 1957 he married Dolores Guillory and to this union three
children were born, Gerald, Vickie and Tracy Lewis. He retired as a truck driver from Concrete
Pipe Co. where he worked for many years. Mr. Lewis was proceeded in death by his parents,
Eddie and Stella Lewis; three sisters Ann Hart Lewis, Lillian Lucille Lewis, and Clara Belle
"Madie" Johnson; one brother George Rue Lewis; one son Gerald Gerard Lewis; one nephew
Edward Gary "Dugga" Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 55 years Dolores G.
Lewis; one daughter Vickie Reynee'(Lewis) Rockmore; one son Tracy Allen Lewis; one sister
Minnie Ruth (Lewis) Shelton all of Lake Charles, La.and one godchild Stephanie M. Anderson of
New Orleans, La.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews
cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held 9a.m.-11a.m. Thursday December 20, 2012 at
Combre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday December 20, 2012 at
Combre Funeral Home. Bishop Larry Gasaway will Officiate. Interment will follow at Hi-Mount
Cemetery.
