Henry Randle, 82, of Lake Charles, LA, passed Sunday, August 3, 2014 in alocal hospital. Mr. Randle was a native of Opelousas, LA, and lived most of his life in Lake Charles, LA. He began his career in law enforcement as one of the first black deputies in the Marshall''s Office, later becoming a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Department under the leadership of Wayne Mc Elveen. Mr. Randle was active in the community in many areas, ranging from politics, coaching, musician, and organization participation. His first love was music. He was a band leader and local musician in the Ambassadors of Soul Band. He was a coach in the Dixie Youth Baseball League and in the Sheriff League. He was instrumenetal in bringing organized baseball to north LakeCharles. Mr. Randle was a memberd(retired) of the Magnolia State Peace Officers'' Organization. He was an active member of 100 Black Men''s Organization, where he participated in the mentorship program at localschools in Calcasieu Parish. Henry is survived by his children, Mac Dozier, Laura Lee Randle, Willis (Rosaland) Davis, Veronica Garrick, Freddie Ceasar, Keith(Vicki) Francis, Keith Bilbo, John Randle, Vicki(Troy) Jones, Ralph Francis, Paul Randle, and Leslie Randle, extended sister, Ophelia Guilbeaux, extended brothers, Thomas(Lemon) and Norque Randle. He is susrvived by 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Victoria Major Randle, 5 natural siblings, and 4 extended siblings.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: August 3, 2014
Visitation will be held Friday, August 8, 2014, at Combre Funeral Home,from 9:00 A.M. until 1:40 P.M. Procession will be led to Saint Henry'sCatholic Church, service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow inSacred Heart Cemetary (SE corner of Opelousas Street and Highway 171).
