Hinder Joyce Weston was born November 9, 1950, to the parentage of the late Edward and Eloise Weston, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Hinder accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend V.E. Washington at New Sunlight Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. At the age of 8 her parents passed away, and she was raised by the late Curley, Sr. and Margaret Handy. In 1969, Hinder graduated from W.O. Boston High School.

Hinder was married to the late Joseph Michael Augusta. Hinder was employed at the Mullers Department Store, New Sunlight Baptist Church, McNeese State University and the University of Texas where she retired.

She is preceded in death by: her son, Terry Jermaine Weston Sr. three sisters: Delores Jean Frelow, Gloria Dean Weston – McCullum, Cynthia Loyce Weston; and one brother, Herman Edward Weston.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving son: Eric Todd Weston, Dedrick Ray Weston, and Brandon Rashard Weston; a special granddaughter Keiasha Brignac; a brother, Terry Stanford (Cynthia) Weston. two special sisters; Dora Harbor and Connie  Ardoin; two special brothers: Elridge Joseph Handy and Larry James Handy; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephew, family and friends.
