IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ida Marie
Behn
November 19, 1939 – July 9, 2020
"Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever."
Psalms 125:1
If you were to ask those that really knew this beautiful woman, a common thread you would hear was about her passion for God. She devoted her life to walking with Him, as His instrument, used sometimes to comfort, confirm, correct, convict, or compel one to seek a relationship with God "while it is still day." It did not matter your race, religion, or socio-economic level - preachers, teachers, politicians, cooks, criminals, grocery store clerks, delivery persons, relatives, strangers, or friends – both young and old alike from all walks of life, publicly or privately, she had the ability 'meet you where you [spiritually] are' and the message was generally the same: "Get your life right with God! Be obedient, put Him first, trust Him to direct your life and order your steps." She was a true prayer warrior. Those whose lives were influenced by her words and prayers and wisdom were made better having known her, now having testimonies of their own because of her prayers. And she will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those who loved her and were so blessed by her time here on earth.
In conjunction with her love for God, she was also a lover of good music, good wine, good food, good "tea", and lots of laughter. She was unapologetically authentic. When she became your friend, she was a true friend for life. A straight shooter, she didn't mince her words and she dealt only in truth, even when it hurt - sometimes with tenderness, sometimes right to the heart. She was a woman of elegance, who loved fashion, and had dreams larger than this life. No matter how dire the circumstances or how difficult life became, she never gave up on God or His ability to turn a situation around, she never lost faith, and she never stopped praying. Always steadfast, always unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord.
