Irene Boyd Orsot, 82 died at 11:37 A.M., Wednesday November 7, 2018, in Los Angeles, California. She was born in New Iberia, Louisiana. At a young age, she moved to Grand Maris, Louisiana. She married Francis S. Orsot and moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana, to raise their family, and in 2014, she moved to Los Angeles, California, with her daughter, Yolanda.

She was a former employee of S.J. Welsh Middle School and worked for several businesses as a seamstress. Eventually, started her own alterations and sewing business catering prom dresses/ gowns, bridal and bridesmaids dresses and accessories.

Irene enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, sewing and zydeco music. Her children lovingly dubbed her, "Irene, The Zydeco Queen". She was an excellent dancer and fashion trendsetter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorena Labbe Olivier and Anthony Boyd; two sisters, Mary Leona Darbigney and Ivey Boyd; ex husband, Francis S. Orsot; godchild, Suzette Granger Anderson; and a special nephew, John Andre Richard.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen Orsot Lede (David); of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Pauline Orsot Avant (Juan), of Dallas, Texas, Yolanda M. Orsot, of Los Angeles, California; six sons, Murray G. Orsot (Rhonda), Francis Kerney Orsot (Jackie), Quincy N. Orsot, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Myles A. Orsot, of Gainesville, Georgia, Ernold C. Orsot (Ana), of Germantown, Maryland, and Joseph M. Orsot (Pam), of Kountze, Texas; two sisters, Theresa G. Richard, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Henrietta Boyd, of St. Martinville, Louisiana; two brothers, Peter Ollie Olivier (Victoria), of Grand Maris, Louisiana, Paul Rawleigh Olivier, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Joyce Boutte Olivier; grandchildren, David, Austin, Ashton, Michael Lede, Sterling, Camille, Jazmyne, Spayne Avant, Desiree, Marcus, Monica, Ramona, Victoria, Father Samuel, Lucas, Christina, Melody, Adreonna, Ryan, Jermaine, Alex and Alexis Orsot, Nancy (Chad) Thibodeaux; great grandchildren, Tatum, Jason, Kaylani, and Ryan, Jr; godchildren Ernest Darbigney, Jeanne Labbe Fontenot, Jacinta Biagas Poullard, and Zolia Richard; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws; and a host of other relatives and friends.
