Obituary

Ivory Mae Deville Durisseau departed this life on January 3, 2021 in her home. Ivory was born in Lake Charles, LA on  April 22, 1927 to the late Oliver and Leona Deville. A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Ivory attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.

Ivory prayed without ceasing and shared her strong faith with those around her during joyous 93 years. She enjoyed tending to her garden, sewing, cooking, and spending time with loved ones. She devoted 45 years of her life to being a seamstress to the Sisters of St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles.

Ivory leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Sandra D. Chretien; sister, Mary Deville; grandsons, Wilfred Chretien Jr., Phillip Chretien Sr., and Eric Chretien Sr.; granddaughters, Allison Chretien and Ashley Chretien; goddaughter, Carolyn Edwards; son-in-law, Willis Chretien, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and 9 great-grandchildren. Ivory was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Durisseau; daughter, Linda Chretien; sisters, Rose Granger and Cecilia Solomon; grandson, Jeremy Chretien Sr.; and great grandson Emmanuel Young.
