IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacquelyn Marie
Hilliard Jubert
August 26, 1956 – April 19, 2025
Jacquelyn Marie Hilliard Jubert was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 26, 1956, to Calvin and Almeta (Garrison) Hilliard as the sixth oldest of eight (8) siblings (Velma Jean, Carrie Mae, Tommy Lee, Mary Joyce, Rena Yvonne, Deborah Lynn, and Pamela).
Jackie was raised with her family as a member of Christian Baptist Church, under the spiritual leadership of Dr. W. C. Clark. Upon her return to Lake Charles in 2010, Jackie became a member of Traveler's Rest Baptist Church under the spiritual leadership of her current pastor, Rev. Abbie Monroe, Jr.
She married her forever boyfriend Gregory Jubert in 1978. God blessed this union with a loving son, Gregory II (G2) in 1981.
Jackie was a 1974 graduate of Lake Charles High School, where she won numerous awards as a member of the Speech and Debate team. She began her nursing education at McNeese State University, where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She paused on her nursing journey when she got married, became a Navy wife, and started traveling. Following the birth of her son, Jackie resumed her nursing education at Grossmont College in San Diego, CA and became a registered nurse in 1983 following graduation from Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA. Early in her career, Jackie became a certified registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery. She worked for 30 years in multiple states including Louisiana, California, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas. Jackie declined requests from multiple hospitals to become labor and delivery department head because she preferred hands-on patient care and direct interactions with patients and their families. She retired due to health issues in 2013.
Jackie loved her dogs, Jack and Pierre, who were her companions and protectors. She was an enthusiastic and devoted fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 36 years. Jackie enjoyed socializing with family and friends. Everyone loved to be around her because of her outgoing personality, genuine warmth and friendliness, smile and laughter. Before her health deteriorated, she also loved fishing, target shooting at gun ranges, and cooking.
Jackie and Greg's work traveling days ended in 2010 when they re-located to Lake Charles. This was the fourth time for Jackie and second time for Greg because she had returned to Lake Charles twice while he was deployed overseas.
Jackie leaves to cherish and celebrate her life, her husband of 46 years, Gregory A Jubert; their son, Gregory A. Jubert II; granddaughter, Nevaeh Marie Jubert; siblings, Tommy Lee (Lorraine) Thomas, Rena Yvonne Williams, and Deborah Lynn Charles all of Lake Charles, LA; four brothers in-law and four sisters in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Almeta Hilliard; sisters, Velma Jean, Carrie Mae, Mary Joyce, and Pamela; and father and mother in-law Homer and Esther Jubert.
