James "Jimmy" August, 68, gained his heavenly wings on September 29, 2018. He graduated
from W. O. Boston High School and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from McNeese
State University. James received his Master of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of
Houston in Houston, Texas. He studied at Georgetown University, continuing his studies in
Spanish and Portuguese linguistics. His studies overseas in Dijon, France afforded him a "Dip/orne
de Francais". Upon his return to Houston, James obtained his Evaluation Specialist and Bilingual
Teacher certifications. He retired from the Houston Independent School District in 2014. He was a
professor, instructor and mentor at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland; Howard
University in Washington, D.C.; and, Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. He was a
member of the light House Church in Katy, Texas and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Preparing his heavenly path were his parents, Early and Mandy August; a baby sister, Earline
Jane; his sister, Bettye August; and, his nephew, Kevin "Bro" Guillory. Mourning his passing is his
only living sister, Mary (Bob) Guillory and his brother, Joseph "Jurnpshot" August all of Lake
Charles, Louisiana; his nieces and nephews: Hilbert Michael Guillory, Jr.; Hilton "Putt" Guillory, II
and his wife, Julie; Karon Forte and her twin sister, Sharon Guillory; one godson, Noah Lede, all of
Houston, Texas; and his cousin, Allen August of Katy, Texas.
