Obituary

James Alvin Collins Sr. 70 died on Saturday March 21, 2015 in his residence surrounded by family. He was born on August 25, 1944, to the late Edith Thomas and Alvin Collins.

James was passionate about his education. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in 1964. He also graduated from McNeese State University with degrees in both Chemistry and Mathematics. He furthered his education and graduated with a degree in Computer Networking from San Jacinto College in Houston Texas. James was a Phi Theta Kappa member at San Jacinto College where he also taught Computer Networking classes. While employed at CMS Energy, he became Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.

He leaves to cherish his wife Victoria Breaux Collins, Daughter Monica (Michael) Causgrove, and son James Alvin (Audrey) Collins Jr. James also had unconditional love for his three grandchildren, Troy Roach attending Grambling State University, Janai Collins and James Alvin Collins III of Beaumont, Texas. Other surviving family members include cousins, nieces and nephews all of which he held dear to his heart and to whom he always shared words of wisdom. James also left countless friends from his youth and through his entire adult life. He is proceeded in death by his parents Edith Thomas and Alvin Collins.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: March 28, 2015

Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM in Combre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
