Janet "CeCe" Babineaux was born May 20th 1944 in Lake Charles, LA to Johnnie and
Ethel (Senegar) Bartie of Cameron, Louisiana and Elton, Louisiana respectively. She
was called from labor to her reward on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 81 years of age.

During her time on this earthly plane she modeled unwavering commitment to family
and God. She was a teacher, somewhat of a biblical scholar, and member of
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for over 60 years. Her life was a living
testimony to her values of faith, family, and intellectual curiosity. Even as her love for
travel took her to distant shores, family always brought her home. Family was her
greatest joy and her most treasured blessing.
She took immense pride in gathering her loved ones around her table and at family
reunions where stories of her culture and Creole cooking would flow as freely as the
laughter that filled her home. Each dish was prepared with hands that knew no greater
purpose than nurturing those she loved.
'Grand Mo D' as she was called by her grandchildren, had the gift of making everyone
feel special, of lighting up at every opportunity to share the treasures of our heritage and
her hard won wisdom. May what she has instilled in us always keep us connected to our
roots, to one another, and remind us of the strength that flows through our family.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Joseph Heubert
Babineaux Sr., a grandson Dylan Babineaux, and her youngest son Shawn M.
Babineaux. She leaves behind to carry her legacy forward; three adoring sons Joseph H. Babineaux (Karen) of San Marcos, TX, John K. Babineaux (Reemah) of Palmdale,
CA, Pernell Babineaux (Loria) of Lake Charles, LA and daughter-in-law Dana
Babineaux of Sulphur, LA. Nineteen grandchildren; Justin Johnson, Lindsay Ladd,
Jordan Babineaux, Brandon Babineaux, Chase Moore, Kori Babineaux, LaShundia
Davis, Nadia Babineaux, Faris Babineaux, Iman Babineaux, Eden Babineaux, Deven
Babineaux, Nicole Babineaux, Amber Babineaux, Mallory Deason, Amy Trahan, Monica
White, Drusallar Davis, and Ebony Davis; eighteen great-grand children Jaylen
Johnson, Eryn Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, London Johnson, Grayson Johnson, Isabella
Moore, Carter Moore, Finn Fields, Carmen Babineaux, Koda Babineaux, Kash
Babineaux, Cason Babineaux, Milan McDaniel II, Kamari Davis, Dia Davis, Earl Sims V,
Addison Ellis, Sabrina Sims and a host of other relatives and friends.
