Janet Blake Sias, 59, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, December 14,2012 at a local hospital.

Janet was born January 5, 1953 in Lake Charles, La to James and Margaret Blake. Janet was a long time resident of Lake Charles but also briefly lived in Lafayette, La, Dallas and Houston Texas, and Bowling Green, KY. Janet loved life and cherished her family. She loved spending time with her grandkids, going to the movies, and eating out. Janet was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where she served as General Secretary of the Sunday School Department for 30 plus years and in the W.M.U Circle No. 2. She loved her church family! Janet expecially loved sunday school, outings with her sunday school class, vacation bible school and the National Baptist Conventions and State Conventions.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Starlet (Lance ) Guidry of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Brittany Carrier & (Chris) of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Madison, Kaitlyn, McKylin and McKyenzie; mother, Margaret Blake of Lake Charles, father, James Blake of Oakland California; three brothers, James "Ricky" Blake of Las Vegas, Nevada,  Kenneth (Jo Ann) Blake and Russell (Sedonia) Daigle both of Lake Charles; four sisters, Mary Blake of Las Vegas, Nevada, Patricia Walker of Lake Charles, Elonda (Ronald ) Braxton of Westlake, La , and Jerry Lynn Pipkins of Houston, Texas and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her grandsons Blake and Braedon Guidry; sister, Sonya Blake and grandmother, Marie Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at the church at 11:00 on Thursday until the start of services.
