Jessie Dixson Jr. age 80, died, Sunday, June 24, 2012, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital extended care facility.

He was born in Meeker, LA on October 26, 1931 and lived in Lake Charles, La. for 55 years. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Upon moving to Lake Charles he joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. O'neal King where he remained for 40 plus years. Later in life he joined Union Zion Baptist Church under Rev. J. Bernard where he served faithfully and remained until his death.

He was spiritual counselor for the Voices of Zion and an ordained deacon. And he was the treasurer for the Brotherhood. He was an all around handyman for the church and his pastor. He worked as a Longshoreman for the port of LC.

To the union of Jessie Jr. and Ethel five children were born: Chiffon Goodwill, Jessie Dixson III, Patricia Savoy, Marilyn Carter, and Kevin Dixson.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ethel L. Dixson of Lake Charles, La.; two sons, Jessie (Donna) Dixson III and Kevin (Michelle) Dixson of Lake Charles, LA.;
two daughters, Patricia (Paul) Savoy and Marilyn (Huey Jr.) Carter of Lake Charles, La. He has one daughter Daner Provost of Lake Charles, La. And eleven grandchildren, Derrick Dixson, Daryl Dixson, Jessie Dixson IV, Traonna Dixson, Kye Dixson, Damon Thibodeaux, Evan Savoy III, Joshua Carter, Jordan Carter, Jeremy Dixson and Christian Dixson. And four great grandchildren. Host of nieces nephews cousins and friends

He is preceded in death his parents Jessie Dixson Sr. and Mae Ellen Harris of Alexandria, La. and one daughter Chiffon M. Goodwill of Lake Charles, La. And one brother Sam Dixson of Houston, Tx.

His funeral will be at 1 pm Saturday June 30, 2012 in the Union Zion Baptist Church of Lake Charles, LA. The Rev J. Bernard will officiate. Burial will be in the Combre Memorial Park in lake Charles, LA under the direction of Combre Funeral Home of Lake Charles, LA. Visitation is from 11:30 am till 1 pm in the church.
