Jimmy "Slim Jim" Dicks 63, was called on October 26, in Lake Charles.
He was born in Lafayette, on October 19,1950, to his loving parents, Lawrence and Ella Mae Dicks. Jimmy "Slim Jim" Dicks was raised on a farm in Chatangier, La. He graduated from James Stephens High School in Ville Platte, also Katy Batber College, in New Orleans. He was an Alter Server at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Chatangier. After relocating to Lake Charles, he worked in many different professions and capacities. Despite his health challenges "Slim Jim" was always polite, respectable, and rarely ever missed his daily cup of coffee with his mother, and he loved to eat! "Slim Jim" loved everything and everybody especially his horses and dogs, Coby and Cassie; "OT" and Louanna too! He was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers and Grandmothers, his father and brother.
His memories is cherished by his mother Ella Mae Dicks;son,Jimmy (Crystal) Brooks, His companion Louanna Durousseau; grandchildren, Samaria Berrard and Juanisha Brown all of Lake Charles; Sisters Helen (Curtis) Rougeau of Eunice, Freda Dicks and Pricilla Hursey; Brothers Patrick, Lawrence, Stanley, Steve, and Floyd Dicks. A host of aunts, uncles, cousin,nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His funeral will be at 11am Monday, November 4, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation if from 9am to 10:40am Monday in Combre Funeral Home.
