Joann Hamilton Tizano entered into eternal rest on November 21, 2022. She was born May 15, 1937 to Arnette and Alberta (Berotte) Hamilton in Jennings, La.
She was happily married April 15, 1958 to Edmond "Shorty" Tizano, Sr. for 51 years. To this union, eight children were born.
She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church and participated in several organizations, such as the G.C. Chaney Choir and the Women's Mission Auxillary.
Joann retired from Calcasieu Marine Bank. In her spare time, she was heavily involved in volunteering in the community, she enjoyed working in the Summer Food program for the youth,was a foster grandparent at Jennings Elementary and served as a board member on the Council on Aging.
Her sass, wit, unwavering faith and zest for life were some of the best parts of her personality. And boy, could she dress to the nines. Seeing her over the years in her Sunday's best; not a piece out of place. She had the matching hat, dress, shoes, purse and jewelry and she was confident she looked fantastic. Her husband, Edmond, watched in amusement every Sunday to see what her next ensemble would be.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Kathy, Joann,Edmond Jr., Joni, Elliot and Mark; her grandchildren: Alvin Jr. (AJay), Jillian, Mallory, Ashton, Danielle, Rodney, Thaddeus, Alexis, Ashlei, Patrick and Michael ; her great-grandchildren: Markie, Alvin III (Tré), Morgan, Austin, Kori, Kobe Jr., Jessie, Jaedah and Erionna; her brothers: Ronnie (Veronica) and Joseph and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her siblings, Anner Belle, Mary, Dorothy, Edward, Lawrence, Norbert, Lionel; her daughters, Ramona and Tina; sons-in-law, Alvin and Raymond.
