John "Johnny" Michael Deville, Sr. He was born March 20, 1950 to the late Herbert Sam and Mary Deville. He graduated from Lake Charles High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1968 where he played basketball. After high school, Johnny joined the army in 1972. Determined to serve his country, he traveled the world. It was during his worldly travels where he met his wife of 45 years. With this union, they were blessed with three sons. Johnny retired from the army in 1993. Shortly thereafter, he was hired as a security guard at Player's Casino. He was employed with Calcasieu Parish School Board and the Calcasieu Council on Aging.

Upon retiring, Johnny was an avid fisherman. He loved to fish! When he was not fishing, he loved playing bingo. He taught his family the tricks of his trade, even fishing with his nephew right before his untimely death. Johnny adored his family. He inspired them with his honesty and worldly knowledge. His nieces and nephews loved engaging in conversations with him. He will be sorely missed.

Mourning her passing is his wife, Anke and three sons: two residing in Lake Charles: John (Morgan) Deville, Jr. and Marc (Lorraine) Deville; and Steven (Tessa) Deville of Bogalusa, LA; three stepdaughters: Anjana (Greg) Williams; Virginia (Patrick) Schellhammer; and Constanze (Rols) Stirner; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary Deville; his six siblings of Lake Charles, Louisiana: Linda Chretien; Sandra Chretien; Brenda (the late Donald) Dellafosse; Diana (David) Nickerson; Albert (Angie) Deville; Jackie (Leroy) Guidry; and a very special aunt, Ivory "Mae-Mae" Durisseau.  Johnny is preceded in death by his father; one brother, Leonard Deville; his grandparents, Oliver and Leona Deville; and two nephews: Derrick Deville and Albert Deville, Jr.
