Funeral service for John "Sharky" Lewis, 72, will be on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. with the viewing from 11 a.m. until time of service. The Rev. James Harris of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist of DeQuincy will officiate. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery in DeQuincy under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.

He was a native of Opelousas and lived in Lake Charles most of his life before moving to DeQuincy. He was a retired truck driver for the Calcasieu Parish School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Lorrain M. Lewis of DeQuincy; children, Kevin, Greg, Todd, Shannon and Elliott Lewis, Darnell Sonnier, Danny McClain, Tammie Harris, Marlo Lewis and LaWanna McClain; sisters, Dianne (Ronnie) Miller, Carla and Bernadette Bartie; stepbrother, Mack McCain; and stepmother, Erma Lewis.
