Obituary

John Wayne Porché was born on May 4th, 1949, to Joseph Walter Porché Sr and Mary Ella Porché nee' Fusilier in Lake Charles, La. A lifelong resident, he attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School. After High School John attended McNeese State University and then went into the United States Air Force as an Electronics Warfare Systems and Radio Repairman. After leaving the military John returned to Lake Charles where he worked for Xerox as a repair specialist. John then started working for PPG Industries, where he worked for over two decades. John also established Porché Auto Repair at that time. In 1995 John established John Porché Electric where he serviced Lake Charles and surrounding areas as a Master Electrician until he passed. John was an avid learner and just as passionate about teaching others. He was a competitive billiards player and instructor, apothecary enthusiast, golfer and all-around jack of all trades.

On June 21st, 1990, he married Judy K. Bruno, and they blended a large family of nine children Shannon Porché Youngsville, La, Tammy (William) Lathan Houston, TX, Joseph Porché Columbus, OH, Maria Denise Porché Flint, MI, Sonya Porché Lafayette, LA, Shawn Porché Broussard, LA, Cory (Felicia) Louis, Lake Charles, LA. Two children in love Angelina (Randal) Davis Shreveport, LA, Anthony (Siobhan) Bruno, New Orleans, LA. Twenty-nine grandchildren (Tremayne Abraham, Jr., Brendon Abraham, William Lathan II, Imani Lathan, Asia Porché, Jai  Porché, Tayya Porché, Abigayle Porché, Makena Carter, Teriah Carter, Jerayle Simon, Justin Porché, Jonathan Porché, Jillian Porché, Javen Louis, Shane Holman, LaMonie Louis, Serienty Rogers, Sharia Louis, Camila Louis, Sheila Louis, Cory Louis, Jr, Kelsea Louis, Trevor Aguillard, Madison Aguillard, Christian Pearson, Avah Bruno, Ethan Bruno, and Gabrial Lee), and nine great grandchildren. In addition, two sisters Gloria (Roy), Porché Sanders, Carol (Joseph) Pollard. Three nephews, three nieces and a host of other family, friends, colleagues

John is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Joseph Walter Porche' Jr, sister Loretta Porche'-Wyatt, one grandchild and one great grandchild, three nephews and a niece.


There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Moss Bluff. In addition, a memorial will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Combre Funeral Home from 1-3 PM.
