Mr. Joseph "Jumpshot" August, 79, gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, February 28, 2021. A graduate of W.O. Boston High School, Joseph excelled in basketball, thus his signature nickname. He retired from the City of Lake Charles. Preparing his heavenly path was his wife, Ruby Nell; his parents, Early and Mandy August; sister, Bettye August, a brother, James "Jimmy" August; and two nephews, Kevin "Bro" Guillory and Gregory August. Mourning his passing is his only living sister, Mary Guillory of Lake Charles and her husband, Hilbert "Bob" Guillory.
