Joseph Burke, Jr., 87, of Iowa, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held at Combre Funeral Home on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 9:00am to 10:30am.

Funeral service will be held at St. Henry Catholic Church on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11:00am with Reverend Bryan Thompson of St. Henrys's Catholic officiating. Burial/Interment will follow at Combre Memorial Park. Combre Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.

Joseph was born Iowa, Louisiana to the late Joseph Burke, Sr. and Theresa Williams Burke on August 18, 1925. He served in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Burke, Mose Burke, and Booker T. Washington.

He  is survived by his wife of 65 years,  Elnora Carrier Burke, and their  children Barbara (Phillip) Gordon, Christine Grayson, Mary (Don) Augustus, Arnold (Patricia) Burke, Connie (Nelson) Bernard, Bradford Burke, Jerry (Randi) Burke; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and  a host of  nieces and nephews.
