Obituary

Joseph Dallas Deville was born on May 19, 1944, in Elton Louisiana to Alexander Deville Sr. and Eugenie (Roberts) Deville. For the better part of his life he drove cement trucks for Concrete Pipe Co. for 18 years, where he retired. He then went on to become a Cement Finisher. He was also a well accomplished musician where he played lead guitar for several different bands: Lawrence (Black) Ardoin, John Delafose, Alfred Pete, Bozoo Chavis and many more. He departed this earthly life on Monday October 14, 2024 at a local hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sarah Ann Deville, two sons, Chadwick Deville (Melinda) and Kevin Deville (Melissa) both of Lake Charles and one sister, Helen Young of Lafayette, Louisiana. Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Deville Sr. and mother, Eugenie (Roberts) Deville, four brothers, Landrus, Alexander Jr., Alice & Allen Deville, and one sister, Bertha Pitre.

He will be truly missed by all those who knew him.
