Joseph Hi/man Edwards entered eternal rest on July 11 , 2022. Born on March 17, 1945 in Ville Platte , Louisiana to parents Cluse Pete Edwards and Vivian Batiste , he was the eldest of seven children . He was affectionately known as " Hilman" a man that rarely ever met a stranger. Following his service in the United States Army he built a life and family in Lake Charles , Louisiana where he was a lifelong resident. He retired from Borden ' s Dairy after 44 years of dedicated employment . A s a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church he lived out his Christian faith through his commitment to family and his genuine love and compassion for others.

Joseph Hilman Edwards appreciated the simple pleasures of his home life. Hefound
contentment sharing time with extended family and friends or relaxing in the comfort of his home enjoying a favorite show or working in his y ard. He shared the gift of raising children and enjoying grandchildren with his wife of 55 years , Eirena Anderson Edwards who ' s left to cherish his memory with their three children ; sons , Nathaniel James and Derrick Paul and one daught e r , Kimberly Annette .

Joseph Hilman Edwards is preceded in death by hi s mother Vivian Batiste and father Clu s e Pete Edwards, his brother Roosevelt Batiste, his sisters Liz Land, Catherine Daniels and Tara Orphey Frank .

His memory will live on in the heart of his sister Carolyn Edwards (Vallejo , California),
brothers Griffin & Pamela Edwards (Lake Charles, La), Alfred & Gloria Daniels (Lake
Charles , La) and Marshall Daniels (Lake Charles , La). His laughter , lov e and s trength will continue to live on through his six grandchildren, Devyn Edwards, De Marquise Edwards, Kameron Edwards , Kailey Edwards, Kaelon Malbrew and Ayden Chavis . Al s o cherishing his memory is a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. He will forever be loved and missed .
