Jr
June 12, 1935 – December 17, 2019
Joseph Hamilton Jr. was born June 12, 1935 to the late Joseph Hamilton Sr. and Myrtle Pierre Hamilton in Weiss, Louisiana. In high school, he was an avid sportsman. He played football and helped Capitol High School win the State Championship in 1956, the year of his graduation. He went on to work as a courier for United Service.
After moving to Lake Charles, he worked for Anco Insulation from which he retired in 2000. Upon retirement, he spent a majority of his time sitting under the' carport with his "gathering of old then" and
fishing in Cameron and Big Lake. Joseph transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Anna Bell Ben Hamilton of Lake
Charles, Louisiana. Those that will cherish and carry on his legacy of love are his son, Garland Keith Hamilton; his daughter, Monica (Dedrick) Fontenot, of McKinney, Texas; three grandchildren, LaShay Fontenot, Noah Fontenot, and Darius Keith Hamilton; two sisters, Myrtle Franklin and Flora Mae Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Hamilton and Myrtle Hamilton, and two brothers, Charles Hamilton and Alfred Drake.
