IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Rene
James
April 4, 1930 – February 1, 2014
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth," Psalms 121:1-2
Joseph Rene James
("10-4")
Early Saturday morning, February 1, 2014, God sounded the call and sent his angel to escort Joseph Rene James to his new heavenly home. Born in Lawtell, Louisiana to Willie and Louise James, he was baptized, confirmed and reared in the Catholic Church. He was united in marriage to his wife Rosalie Carrier in October, 1948. After marriage, they moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana where they resided until he was called home. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Louise James; his father Willie James; and brothers Ralph and Roy James. He was educated at Biagus School in Lawtell, Louisiana.
For many years he enjoyed gardening alongside his wife, Rosalie, who loved to tell how he never let the vegetables get fully ripe. He retired from Hercules Plastic Company after twenty-five years of faithful service. Joyfully and faithfully, he served at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with his wife. He served there as an usher for ten years until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rosalie Carrier James; his two sons, Alvin Ray and Rayfhel James (Helena); three grandsons, Elliot, Desmond and Matthew James; four brothers, Whitney (Annie), Oswald (Mary), Harold and Perry James; five sisters, Gertrude Biagus, Orelia Colligan, Maxi Lee Plummer, Delores Guillory and Gloria Richards (Julian); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
We, the family will never forget his zeal and his energy in his life and with his family
