Joseph L. Thomas was born in Lake Charles, LA on September 3, 1936 to Mabel R. Thomas and Nolton Thomas. He attended Boston High and later enlisted in the military, where he served 22 years in the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the military, he worked at various plants throughout Louisiana and Texas

He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

Memories of love will always dwell in the hearts of his children; Gary Thomas, Sherelle Thomas, Micheal Myles, Nina (Donald) Jones, Sr., Rhoda Myles and Thelton Joseph Thomas. , As well as, his siblings; Marie Thomas Gomez Peters and Ola Dyer.

His grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends will always hold loving memories in their hearts.

Joseph L. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Nolton Thomas; wife, Glenda Thomas; son, Patrick Myles, Sr.; brothers, Nolton Thomas, Jr., Anthony Thomas; and sister, Joan Bilbo.
