Obituary

Josie Mae (Gobert) Guillory, 88 was called to her heavenly home on August 1, 2020. She was born on January 3rd 1932 in Mallet, Louisiana to the late Lawrence and Catherine (Godeaux) Gobert. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Dester Mary (Guillory) Gobert; two sisters, Victorine Guillory and Ophelia Leday; three brothers, Lawrence Gobert, Jr., Joseph Gobert and Robert Gobert; three children, Edna, Jerome, and Patrick Guillory; one granddaughter, Jessica Guillory-Rosenburg; and one great grandson, Ashton Anderson.

Josie was a native of Lake Charles for the past sixty-five years. She was employed as a bus driver by the Calcasieu Parish School Board driving for Eastwood, and Washington Marion HS from which she retired after thirty years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter.  She enjoyed traveling across the country to visit her family and children.  As the matriarch of her family, she enjoyed having everyone gathered around during the holidays.

Left in God's care to cherish her memory are her three children, Curtis Guillory (Ruby), Pamela Anderson (Wade) both of Lake Charles and Debra Guillory of Conyers, GA. Four grandchildren, Joseph Guillory of Lake Charles, Stephanie Anderson of New Orleans, Marcus Anderson of Houston, TX, Joy Holt of Stone Mountain, GA; one grandson-in-law, Ernest Rosenburg of Lilburn, GA; eight brothers, Norris Gobert (Joyce) of Lake Charles, Johnny Gobert (Lenora) of Orlando, FL, Nebert Gobert (Donna) of Duson, Hilery Gobert of Iowa, LA, Gilbert Gobert of Dallas, TX, Michael Gobert and Richard Gobert of Church Point, and Gregory Gobert of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Velma Gallien of Lake Charles, Rita Gobert and Agnes Gobert Harrell both of Baton Rouge; ten great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, God children, as well as other relatives and friends.

The family would also like to acknowledge and thank Velma Gallien, Nancy Carter, Brandi Guillory, and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for all of the loving care that was given to our Mother.
