Joyce "Madear"Marie Landry Easton, 84, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 peacefully in her home. She was a born January 1, 1930 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Flora Bell Ryan and Satisfiel Landry married to the late Willie H. Easton I and to that union 8 children were born.

She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She and her dear friend Margaret Jackson were founding members of The Golden Girls. Joyce was a member of Reeves CME Temple where she faithfully served on the Senior Usher Board until she became ill.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Willie H. Easton I, her parents Flora Bell Ryan and Satisfiel Landry along with her foster mother Laura Beverly: 2 sisters Rose Mary Moore and Jerry Landry one brother Alex John and a stepson Raymond Easton.

Leaving behind to continue Madear''s celebration of life is her brother Michael Thomas of Eunice, LA. Her 8 children Willie H. (Betty) Easton I, Linda Joyce Easton, Kenneth Easton, James Harold Easton, Michael Landry Easton, Brenda Easton (William) Greene, Gregory Wayne Easton and Donna Marie Easton a stepdaughter Beverly Easton and her ex daughter in law Retta Easton that she dearly loved all of Lake Charles . 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Reeves CME Temple of Lake Charles, LA where the Reverend Dr. H. Leon Williams, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Hamilton Garden of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Combre''s Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
