Obituary

God called His angel, Joyce James Malveaux, home on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:30 am. She was born on August 20, 1937 to Paul and Azalea Bellard James in Opelousas, Louisiana. Joyce met her soul mate, Calvin Joseph Malveaux, and were joined in Holy Matrimony November 30, 1957. They were blessed with three daughters and three sons. Joyce resided in Lake Charles, Louisiana for over 50 years.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she and her family attended for more than 50 years.

Joyce taught by example, the most valuable lesson anyone could learn from her was how to pray to God. She blessed many people with her warm heart and generosity. Her caring spirit and energetic personality entered the hearts of anyone she met. Whenever you visited her, you never left on an empty stomach or empty handed. She loved talking and cooking for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was her entire world. She will be missed by a multitude of people. Her Love continues on.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Azalea James; two brothers, Cleveland James and Paul James, Jr; three sisters Laura Portier, Viola Fairfax and Bertha Labbe; son, Reginald Malveaux; son-in-law Anthony Ray Malbroux; and two great grandchildren, Bailey Malveaux and Teagan Allison.

Joyce''s spirit will be carried on by her five children, Debra Malveaux Jones, Galen Dwight (Felicia) Malveaux, Jacinthia Malveaux Malbroux, Stephanie Malveaux, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Calvin Marlon (Susan) Malveaux of Atlanta, Georgia. She will be cherished by her ten granddaughters Deinika Jones, Natalan Malveaux, April Bennett, Jasmine Malbroux, Ieshia Jones, Jayda Malveaux, Alyssa Malveaux, Haleigh Malveaux, Alexis Malveaux and Ashanta Malbroux. Two step grandchildren Tyrus and Spence Casnave; four great grandchildren, Dillion Boone, Derona Smith, Lailonnie Jones and Armond Jones; two sisters, Mable Washington and Audrey Clark; godchildren, John James and Jarvis Daigle.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: February 27, 2016

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Wayne Leblue will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 6-9pm Friday, February 26, in Combre Funeral Home. Continued visitation on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 12:10 also in funeral home.
