Obituary

Juanita Babineaux, 80, died at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at home in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her family.

She was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Lake Charles, La., and was the oldest off our siblings, born to the late Issac and Eunice Campbell. She was a devoted member of Christian Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Edward Alexander where she served faithfully as a deaconess, a member of Esther Jourbert Circle 6, second vice president of the women's ministry, member of the senior women Sunday school class, member of the mass choir and a member of the church social committee, she also served asa mentor to many young women in the church until of illness.

She leaves to morn her eight daughters, Marie Beloney, Stacy Runnels, Yvette (Esay) Douglas III , Katherine Love, Belinda (John) Frazier of Houston, Texas, Dodi Bruno (Ray Garland), Anita Simpson, and Joan (Darald) Chavis of Lake Charles; and two sons, Emery (Courtney) Babineaux of Lake Charles, and Jessie (Yaun) Campbell of Dallas, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 16great-grandchildren; and 2 great-nieces; and family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Emery Babineaux; sisters, Margariet Campbell and Addie Cox; brother, Issac Campbell II.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: November 19, 2016

Her funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Christian Baptist Church. The Rev. Edward Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park in Lake Charles, under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, at Christian Baptist Church and the funeral at 11 a.m.
