Julia Mae
Tezeno
January 26, 1949 – August 13, 2025
Julia Mae Tezeno was born on January 26, 1949, in Lafayette, Louisiana, the third of twelve children born to the late Moise Sr. and Theresa Guillory Tezeno. From the beginning, Julia's life was rooted in deep faith, strong family values, and a sincere devotion to serving others.
Julia was a graduate of Plaisance High School and went on to work in the culinary department at Harbour House. Her love of cooking and service was evident not just in her professional life but also in her willingness to care for others at every opportunity.
Julia wore many hats throughout her life—caregiver, friend, mentor, and faithful servant. Whether it was offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement, Julia's kindness and generosity touched many lives in the Lake Charles community. She had a unique way of showing up when people needed her most and often quietly did the hard work of helping others behind the scenes.
A woman of unwavering faith, Julia was a lifelong and devoted member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church. Julia's love for her family ran deep. She was the glue that held many together, and her legacy of unity, strength, and love will live on through the countless lives she influenced.
She is preceded in death by her father, Moise Tezeno Sr.; her mother, Theresa Guillory Tezeno; and her brother, Lionel Tezeno.
Leaving to cherish Julia's memory are her siblings – Rita Mae Booker (James) of Rocklin, CA, Moise Tezeno Jr. (Patricia) of LeBleu, LA, Warren Tezeno of Grand Prairie, LA, Donna Lee Avery (Marcellus) of the Woodlands, TX, Gilda Forté (Ulycess) of North Brooke, IL, Christina Tezeno of Lake Charles, LA, David Wayne Tezeno of Lake Charles, LA, Antonio Tezeno of Forest City, NC, John Alton Tezeno (Larren) of Rutherfordton, NC, and Pamela Baker (Ronald) of Cordova, TN.
